Justina Oha: Paving the Way for the Next Generation of Tech Leaders

"Girls need women to look up to—it makes it easier to believe they can achieve more."

These words from Justina Oha speak volumes. Growing up in Northern Nigeria, Justina saw few women in leadership roles. Yet, she always sensed that there was more in store for her. Inspired by glimpses of women leading in tech and her mother building a business, Justina knew she could reach greater heights.

Today, as the founder of Digital Equity Africa, Justina is proving that belief right. Digital Equity Africa is a digital inclusion consultancy committed to bridging the digital divide across the continent. By working with governments, corporations, and the tech ecosystem, Justina’s company designs strategies that promote access to the digital economy and facilitate trade in African markets.

But her influence doesn’t stop there.

Justina also works as a Global Partnership Consultant at Big Cabal Media, Africa’s largest tech media organization. Through her career, she’s mentored countless young people, driven by a passion for technology and youth empowerment.

Justina’s 17-year career in the tech industry has been nothing short of extraordinary. From ecosystem building and digitization to government and investor relations, her expertise spans the spectrum. As the former Country Director of the UK-Nigeria Tech Hub, under the British High Commission, Justina made waves by securing a partnership with Google for Startups Africa. This initiative resulted in $3M in cloud credits for women in tech and created investment readiness programs for female founders, pushing toward financial inclusion for women.

But for Justina, the journey isn’t just about technology. It’s about the people.

“Early Engagement Is Key to Building Future Tech Leaders”

Her work with Tizeti Inc. (wifi.com.ng), an infrastructure company delivering last-mile internet access across underserved African communities, is another testament to her impact. Leading the company’s growth team during its Africa expansion, Justina ensured that technology reached the people who needed it most.

With a B.Sc. in Mass Communication and an MA in International Relations, Justina has also become a familiar face on the global stage, sharing her insights at major events in the UK, Algiers, Kigali, South Africa, and beyond.

A Mentor, Advocate, and Champion for Youth Empowerment

As a TechStars Global Mentor, Justina dedicates her time to supporting startups across the globe. Her focus on impact investing and inclusion sets her apart, as she uses her extensive experience to uplift entrepreneurs and guide them to success.

Her mission extends beyond business. As a youth advocate, she’s passionate about helping young people unlock their potential, ensuring they have the tools and inspiration to become the tech leaders of tomorrow.

Justina Oha is our Winning Woman of the Week, a title that is more than well deserved. Through her vision, leadership, and tireless work, she’s shaping the future of technology and opening doors for the next generation.
